Edit: If you have any requests, go for it. I haven't had much inspiration since work stole my soul.

I don't like Dwarfs.

See, unlike the nice squishy Empire state troops, Dwarfs tend to not die or run away when charged by Bretonnians. Leaving my S3 Knights locked in combat with T4 Longbeards, Hammerers and Slayers. At least Boris (Battle Standard Bearer) and his unit showed what they were made of, taking pretty much everything the Dwarfs threw at them. This included losing only one Knight to the 8 wounding hits caused by the Organ Gun (saved 5 with armour and two with the Blessing of the Lady) and still numbering more than half of what they started.

By comparison, the rest of my army didn't do real well. I'm sure Sven would have done much better if his pegasus hadn't been shot out from under him by the Bolt Thrower. As it stood, all he did was get locked in combat with the Runesmith for several turns before being run down by the Dwarf (he tripped on a rock, I swear!). The Damsels only managed one useful spell each, but it didn't stop Adelaide from running out to 5 metres in front of the Organ Gun to heal Sven after he charged the Runesmith, then getting blasted by it. Boris didn't like that much, and the Slayers found that out when he cut down three of their number in one round of combat.

The second unit of Knights and the Damsel with them were terrible. They charged the Hammerers, got locked, ran when the Longbeards charged them, rallied, charged the Hammerers, got locked, ran when the Longbeards charged them, rallied, charged again with The Wolf Hunts (at this point I said "in war, you can't rely on the principle of third time lucky") and got locked for the rest of the battle.

So, onto what I actually did learn. I learned:

Sven needs some Pegasus Knights to back him up
The Lore of Beasts and Lore of Life are pretty good

While I was waiting, I had a flick through Codex: Chaos Daemons. I didn't really have time to look at the rules, but I read about Skarbrand (I laughed when the crazed Bloodthirster attacked Khorne), Fateweaver (who needs 81 Lords of Change to write down all the stuff he says) and the Blue Scribes (I knew Tzeentch was the best of the Chaos Gods!). Maybe after a while I'll start a Tzeentch Daemon army for Fantasy, with Khorne units supporting. But that probably won't be for a while, so I'll stick to Bretonnia for a while. I do want a Hippogryph, but it certainly shouldn't be the first thing I buy.

Anywho, that's about it for now.
